Web Site Privacy Policy

 

While this website is intended primarily for those who are already part of the St. Andrew Lutheran Church community, and for those who are interested in learning more about St. Andrew, the nature of a website is such that anyone with a computer and Internet access can view it.  Therefore, we resolve to implement the following steps in order to ensure the privacy of our members and guests:

 

§         We will not list private addresses, nor phone numbers on the website, unless expressly requested to do so by the individual(s) in question.

 

§         We will not list private e-mail addresses on this website, unless requested to do so by the individuals(s) in question.  The single exception to this is the St. Andrew email address necessary for church business.

 

§         Should legal minors appear in any pictures, graphics, or other images on this website, they will not be identified by name.  The minor(s) and their parents/legal guardians may request that the images be removed from the website at any time, and we will comply with that request at our earliest convenience. 

 

§         Persons of legal majority age who appear in images on this website other than Pastor and staff, will not be identified by full name, unless

      requested to do so by the individual (s) in question.

 

The following information can be posted to our website without prior written permission of the person depicted or described:

§         Names, office phone numbers, extensions and St. Andrew email addresses of staff persons.  Example: andrewsmith@embarqmail.com.

 

§                             Photographs of staff members leading or attending a St. Andrew event.

§                             Narrative descriptions of events which contain the names of staff persons.

 

§                             Staff biographical information.

§                             First and/or last names of adult members when those members are designated as a contact person for a St. Andrew event or activity.

§                             Photographs of adults attending a St. Andrew sponsored event or activity, with accompanying first name identification.

 

§                             Photographs and full names of current staff members.

§                   Calendar dates and physical locations of St. Andrew, ELCA SYNOD and General Assembly meetings, and the names of Pastor, Congregation Council officers and staff who will be attending.

 

§                   Descriptive announcements of scheduled events which contain the names of persons in a leadership role. For example, a visiting        speaker, clinician, musician, author or local dignitary.

 

Whenever photographs of minors attending St. Andrew events are published on the website, the following criteria must be observed:

§         No identifying captions will be used with any picture. In other words, no child’s name will be published with his or her picture.

§         Parent notification will be on file for all students shown in pictures.

 

§         The minor(s) and their parents/legal guardians may request that the images be removed from the website at any time, and we will comply with that request at our earliest convenience. 

 

Information concerning any individual's birthday, age, wedding anniversary, illness, death, marriage, prayer requests or praises are not appropriate for posting.

Any person discovering that information about themselves or family members has been posted on the St. Andrew Lutheran Church website and they do not wish to remain there should contact the St. Andrew church office by phone (252-637-5879) or via e-mail at standrew1605@embarqmail.com.      

The Congregation Council, Pastor, Administrative Assistant and Personnel ministry will periodically review this policy and make changes as necessary.
