Treasurer’s Report- Ed Blakelock- See Report. April YTD Budget Offerings (5,108.84)

Bob Buszka- Reported on kitchen floor- the kitchen is a trip hazard currently. One idea is a ceramic floor. (too expensive). Recommends that refrigerator/freezers be taken out and enlarge the kitchen using part of the storage room. Bob will bring a written proposal from Coastline Land Development & Construction Company to next Council meeting.  Property committee would “finish” the floor... Cement board would be installed on top of the plywood, and then re-tiled. The sink area floor has been damaged by water; under the stove room has been damaged by wood rot, due to no air movement. Ollie asked for 3 proposals, one for each kitchen area, and one for the expansion into the storage area. On 6/10, the Lutheran Men In Mission will have a special service for Father’s Day, Flag Day, and Wounded Warriors. The LMIM yard sale is 5/22.  Property will get with Finance committee when proposal bids come in.

Worship & Music- No report.

Fellowship- See Report

Stewardship- See Report.

Youth Comm. - See report

Personnel Comm. - Egon Lippert- On 6/20, between the 2 services, a meeting for the Funeral/Memorial Committee Volunteers will be held.

Property- Paul Miottke- The bid for installation of a ceiling fan in Sanctuary is $1,000. The Ponticks have retired from maintaining the church gardens. Need some members to take this job.  Bob Morrissey is looking at changing the air filters. The Compressor was replaced by Coastal Carolina Air Conditioning- cost was $900.

Finance- Ollie Beall- The church insurance program will be bound 5/23/10 with CHURCH MUTUAL in lieu of SELECTIVE with broader coverage & the same deductibles as expiring at a reduced premium & within the 2010 approved budget. Ollie will look into the background check reporting system that Church Mutual will require for all adults involved in youth activities. Karen will make a list of these adults, working with Sarah, Craig, and Linda.

Christian Education- Sarah Hall- VBS meeting will be June 19th at 5pm. Bernie requested Sarah have the VBS information put on the church’s website.

Social Ministry- Barbara Riegel- EPIC baby bottle campaign raised $1,466 plus a $300 donation from Thrivent.

The church auction may need a new auctioneer if Elmer Stenzel sells his house before the auction in Sept. The info on the auction will be posted in the June Witness and bulletin announcements. Barbara will need volunteers to recruit businesses for donations. Children can offer yard raking services, pet sitting, child care, etc.

Evangelism- Jeff French has submitted a letter of resignation from the council. Bernie will contact the Evangelism Committee Chairman for an appointee for council liaison.

Financial Secretary vacancy was discussed.

Bernie- Mary Ann Krueger will give a CPR class for free; she needs a volunteer to coordinate the class. Sarah will make the contact.

Ed Blakelock mentioned an Evangelism bill that exceeds the YTD Evangelism budget by $200, for the City Map Project. Council clarified that a previous motion for Ed not to pay bills over budget meant over the total budget for the year, not the YTD budget. Ed reminded that only the Council Liaison OR the Committee Chairperson are to sign requisitions for him to pay bills.

Egon- the updated St Andrew Constitution has been sent to Synod for approval.

Bob Morrissey made a motion to adjourn, 2nd by Sarah.

Bernie closed the meeting with The Lord’s Prayer at 9:16pm.

Respectfully submitted,

Karen Ellenberger, Council Secretary
